Super Bowl XL Ring! You have to check this out, I saw photos of the Super Bowl Rings today and WOW, they are awesome. Very classy and I love the 5 superbowl trophies. The football on top of each trophy are diamonds! Very nice.

Here’s a a link to the complete story and more Photos.

The ring was designed by Dan Rooney with help from Jerome Bettis and Ben Roethlisberger. I’m glad the rings aren’t too flashy and all about the ‘bling-bling’. In my opinion they show the Steeler Pride and a bit of tradition.

I can’t wait to see the ceremony at the Home Opener!!

Stories from Detroit…..

I’ve finally come down from the two week high that I’ve been riding since the Big Super Bowl win. I thought since the season is over and it’s a little to soon to talk about the draft, I would tell a few more stories from our trip to Detroit.

The saturday before the game we spent the entire day exploring Detroit and enjoying the festivities. One thing that stood out was the lack of representation of Seahawk fans. I realize that they are on the far west coast but if the Super Bowl was in Seattle, I guarantee you Steeler fans would make the trip. We didn’t see more than 10-12 Seahawk fans at a time anywhere.

We went to the Hockeytown Cafe, the first thing we did was explore all 3 floors of the building. What a huge bar! We got to the top floor and there was a local tv station filming something up there, they had an area roped off. The camera man turned the camera on and a guy in a Seahawk jersey jumps up and yells, Go Seahawks! It was funny because Steeler fans heard this and started chanting Here we Go Steelers, Here we Go. It was unbelieveably loud, the tv crew and cast turned around and were laughing like crazy. The Seahawk fan threw his arms up in a ‘I give’ motion and sat down. The crowd roared!

After that we headed downstairs, there wasn’t a table available so we ended up in the big tent they had setup for crowd overflow. It was very basic, long tables, folding chairs, beer and 4 big screen tv’s. We sat down and shot the breeze with many Steeler Fans. The funny thing is, after returning back home, my Dad talked to a friend who was in the tent at the same time we were that night, and we didn’t see each other. :) It was very crowded and a very large tent.

Nothing very exciting after that, just a few beers and talk about the upcoming game. Oh, about 95% of the crowd had Steeler Jersey’s or some Steeler gear on. Heck, I saw more Detroit Redwings fans than Seahawk fans.

More stories and photos coming…..
