Many people these days are making the choice of purchasing used golf golf clubs rather than new ones because of the price they want for them. The main reason that most all of the people buying used golf golf clubs give for the purchasing decision is related to the price. Plus, recycling anything is good for the environment! So as we go into this we need to know what to look for when purchasing a set of used golf clubs.

First, you need to look at the golf clubs heads for face wear. clubs that have been used for a long time might have a shiny worn spot in the center. If you find a set of clubs with this problem you need to keep looking as it will not hold the ball like you need it to. The grooves in the face of the club all need to have good definition and not have any dents what soever as these will make a difference in the flight of your ball.

The shaft of the club is the next thing that you need to examine. Graphite shaft clubs can become weakened by indentation and worn spots in the shaft so be sure to look them over really carefully. Grab a hold of the head and the grip and twist them in opposing directions. If you don’t feel a lot of resistance, you will know that there is some weakness in the shaft. This is only an appropriate test if the shaft is graphite. If the shaft is made out of steel, then you simply need to look down the shaft and make sure that it hasn’t been bent and re-straightened.

The grips in used golf clubs are also something that you must pay attention to. You will be looking for cracks, splits, and worn areas. Used golf golf clubs can have new grips installed on them, but it is not cheap and can add a cost factor of around 6 to 15 dollars for each one of the clubs.

Does the set have consistency? Line them all up in a row and make a comparison. Make sure they all appear to have been in the original set. You want your used golf clubs to all be the same make and model that they are supposed to be. You can throw off the progression of your lofts throughout the set by mixing and matching.

Make sure that you do a price comparison between the cost of the used golf clubs that you are looking at and a new set. You never know there might be a sale going on and you may end up paying less for the new set than for the used set. Many times golf stores will have some really great discounts going on, so don’t be too hasty when looking at used golf golf clubs.

You can’t really tell how well a set of used golf golf clubs will perform unless you are able to test drive them. Find a place to take a few test swings and see how they feel to you.

You can save a lot of money on the most pricey aspect of the game by purchasing a set of used golf clubs. You need to be careful though that you understand correctly what you are looking for before you hand out the coin. It will definitely make a difference on the set you choose.
