The Journey Begins in Tampa

After making the 15 hour drive from Bloomington to Tampa, we arrived around 830 pm, just in time to grab some dinner and check in to the hotel. We had some Sushi in North Tampa and called it an early night.

Today we got up early and headed into Tampa for the festivities. We walked all around the stadium area and the NFL Experience. it was a great time and the city has been taken over by Steeler fans. We’ve seen a few Arizona fans but not very many.

One of the highlights today was going to the area where they do the NFL Network’s TV show live. Rich Eisen, Deion Sanders and Terrell Davis were on the set. We saw Rod Woodson talking to the Thunderbird pilots (they are doing the flyover) and the Steeler Fans were running the set. It was very exciting, each time they would come back from commercial, we would start the “Here we go Steelers” chant… the TV guys were loving it.

I’ve got some great photos and video that I’ll be uploading when I get back to Indiana, this will be a fun video diary after it’s all pulled together.

Countdown to the Super Bowl

2 days until we leave for Tampa and 5 days left until the Super Bowl, I’m going crazy waiting! This is going to be a great trip, I’ve decided to do a Video Diary of the trip from the time we leave until the game is over, it should make for some great stuff for the blog.

I checked the weather and it looks like the rain has moved out that was supposed to come in on Saturday and now it looks clear and 69 degrees with a low of 50. Not bad at all considering it’s 18 degrees in Indiana and we just got dumped on with 7 inches of snow and another 4-5 inches coming today. So, 69 degrees and sunny sounds great!

We have tickets in hand, parking pass in hand and place to stay arranged. Now, all we have to do is pack as much Steeler Gear we can into the car for the drive. I would normally fly down but my Dad is deathly afraid of flying, so we’re making the 14 hour drive… It will be worth it!

Steeler Defense Tribute – Renegade

If you’ve been to a Steeler game, you’ve heard the crowd chanting “Renegade” and I must say, this is an incredible video. The Renegade video gets everyone on their feet and really gets the blood pumping. Watch this a couple times before the Super Bowl!! Enjoy!

3 Generations of Steeler Fanatic Going to Super Bowl

When I started this Blog in 2004, it was a way for me to vent my frustrations of being a life long Steeler Fan. I had no idea that I’d see the Steelers going to the Super Bowl twice since starting the Blog. I really didn’t envision being able to go to the Super Bowl with My Dad and Son!

This Thursday, my Dad, my Son and I are loading up the car and making the 15 hour drive to Tampa to see the Steelers play in the Super Bowl. Someone pinch me, this is incredible!!!

My Dad and I went to Detroit in 2005, and I documented here on the Blog but this time, I’m going to do a video diary of the trip. Starting from the time we leave, up until gametime, then I’ll have to document via Photos because they won’t allow a video camera into the stadium.

We are meeting my cousin Jay in Tampa for the game, he lives in the Orlando area and is a big Steeler fan. We also know a few people from back home near the ‘Burgh that will be making the trip as well. I’m hoping for a Pittsburgh Style tailgate party in Tampa!!

Stay tuned for video and photos of the big game, I just hope I can get some sleep before then!
