Steelers beat Ravens in Defensive Battle
The Steelers beat the Ravens in Baltimore yesterday in a defensive battle to win the AFC North. The game was a classic slug fest that ended with a controversial call. This time the call went in our favor! If you are a Steeler fan you know that we NEVER get any love from the national announcers, especially Phil Simms. He is the most biased announcer in the business and drives me nuts. Watch the video I put in the upper right corner of the blog, you’ll see what I mean. I hope he bet his life savings on the Ravens yesterday and lost it all!
Back to the game, where do I start… All signs were pointing to a Ravens victory from the beginning, we couldn’t punt over 30yds, our offensive line struggled and we couldn’t do anything in the red zone.
The positive side, as usual, was the defense, the entire defense played their hearts out and held the Ravens to 9 points and kept them out of the end zone. Some notable players were, Ryan Clark with the big interception, Harrision and Woodley’s constant pressure on the QB, Hampton and Smith the key factors to stopping the run, the Secondary for covering well all game and Troy just being Troy.
I knew going into this game the first team to score a TD or get into double digits was going to come away with the victory. I just didn’t think it would come down to a 3rd and goal with less than a minute to go. That last drive was incredible and Ben looked very composed, hitting everyone when it counted.
We are now in control of our own destiny with Tennessee losing yesterday, we can win out and come away with the number one seed! Next week is going to be a huge game against the Titans.
