Steelers beat Cowboys in Comeback of the Year!

What a game! I’m not afraid to say that I was very, very worried with 4 mins. left in the game. Hell, the offense wasn’t doing anything to make me think otherwise. Then, Ben and Santonio Holmes decide it’s time to go to work and bring the team back. They didn’t do it by themselves but there were a couple huge plays that turned the game around.

Let’s go back to the beginning of the 4th quarter for a minute, I couldn’t believe Tomlin went for it on 4th down and didn’t kick the field goal. Of course, if we make it he’s a hero but man, that’s just too risky at that time in the game.

I’m gonna say what everyone is thinking, if this offensive line doesn’t step up, we are going to have a really tough time in the playoffs. You know every team is going to pressure Ben and the offensive line on every play and without a strong running game, it’s going to be trouble for us.

The defense did exactly what the number 1 defense in the league does, hold running backs under 100yds, create turnovers, sack and put pressure on the QB. They all played well and of course, won the game for us today! Stay healthy and keep it up!

We kept T.O. quiet for the most part, he only had a couple of catches, unfortunately, one was for a TD but he didn’t do crap for the most part. I loved watching him cry and whine on the sidelines at the end of the game, pointing fingers and blaming everyone but himself. Happy Birthday T.O, you got a present from me, a HUGE LOSS! HA!

Go Steelers 10-3 and still leading the AFC North

You know what Pat, I actually liked Tomlin’s call to go for it on 4th and goal. The way that I look at it is this:

The Steelers are going to end up in the playoffs. The playoffs mark a whole new begining, so if the Steelers dump one to the Cowboys, it’s really not that big of a deal.

What I am convinced of is that a Super Bowl appearance, or victory, is going to take some risks, lucky bounces, last minute heroics, and some overall “pulling it out of the ass” from the Steeler’s O. I equate this years offense with a knuckleballer or spitballer in baseball. When they win, it’s sluggish and tricky. The knuckleball is all we have this year – and we’re going to have to use for all that it’s worth.

This being said, Tomlin’s going to need to be more comfortable with pulling the trigger on a risky call or two. That 4th and goal was good practice.

I dont think the Steel-maixim of smash-mouth, 3 yards at time, is going to work this time – because we don’t have it this time around.

I give two thumbs up to Tomlin for going for it.

Oh yeah, and how about Dan Rooney mouthing “go for two” from the booth after the Heath Miller TD?

LOL!!!

You crazy old coot! I love you!

That was classic, I think he was serious on that one! You definitely make a valid argument for the Super Bowl and taking risks, we are going to have to be aggressive to make and win it.

What a great game. A hard fought battle and then all the action in the last 5 minutes.
