Steelers @ Patriots – The season changes…
Going into this game I was very worried and after the first possession I was extremely worried. Big Ben comes out and throws an INT on the first series and NE converts it to a TD. Being at Foxboro and thinking about our record against the cheating Bellicheck, I knew this was going to be a good game.
Until halftime…
When the Patriots missed the field goal going into halftime, I had a feeling the momentum was going to change. In fact, I told my wife that we would make a few adjustments and kick their asses in the second half.
And then…..
The defense decides to come out and completely dominate the Patriots in the second half. I am loving this and can’t believe the 30 unanswered points.. WOW
I’ll give the Defense some huge props and also to Big Ben for recovering from the big interception. I’d also like to give Willie Parker some props for coming back and having a big game.
Patriots….. Smatriots…. LOL
Go Steelers!!!!!!!!!!!
9 and 3 and leading the AFC North once again!

Steelers Beat Chargers 11-10
The Steelers and Chargers made NFL History today and finished today’s game with the first ever 11-10 score in 12,837 NFL Games. When I heard that statistic, I didn’t think it could be true but I guess it’s not really easy to score 11 points in an NFL game.
The game was a defensive battle with the Steeler defense doing what they do best, stopping the run, creating turnovers and creating havoc on the QB. Except for the incredibly stupid penalties, the Steeler defense played very well.
I have been busing Big Ben’s chops for a few weeks for below average play, so today I’ll give been some credit. He played a very good game and made some excellent throws. He also had his first game over 300 yds passing at home since 2006. Great game Ben.
It was nice to see Fast Willie Parker back today, he definitely took the pressure off Ben and made the defense play the run on 1st and 2nd downs. I would like to see a power back on 3rd and short and inside the 10yd line, that hurt us today.
Hines Ward is back! I love it when Hines has a big game and today he was all over the place. Great catches, great blocks, and he is hard to take down after he makes a catch. Great game Hines!!
Matt Spaeth also stepped up and made some great catches today in place of the injured Heath Miller. He was crucial on 3rd down and made some great blocks as well.
The Defense… too many big plays to mention but I’ll give props to Polomalu, Harrison, Woodley, Smith, Foote, Kiesel and the newly acquired Bryant for stepping up and making some big plays.
After last weeks disappointing loss to the Colts, this was a big win for the Steelers.

Big Ben hands Colts Game on Silver Platter
I can’t blame Ben for everything, part of the blame has to go to the offensive line for not giving Ben any protection but the 2 interceptions which put the Colts in the red zone, that goes to Ben. Both interceptions were incredibly costly and put 10 points on the board for the Colts. If Ben doesn’t throw those interceptions, we win the game.
The day started out good, my Dad picked me up at the Hyatt at the Pittsburgh airport around 1130am and we headed downtown to meet friends for some tailgating fun. There is a very large group from our area that meets for every game in the Subway parking lot by Gate C.
We had a great time tailgating with friends and headed into the stadium around 3pm so we could enjoy some good food in the Club area. This is the first time we’ve sat in the North club and we were not disappointed.
However, the game was very disappointing. We had this game under control and a few mistakes really cost us a big game. The defense stepped up as usual but a couple blown coverages hurt us and cost us a touchdown. We kept Addai in check and didn’t allow them to run the ball and the pressure on Manning kept him from making too many big plays.
We are still in control of first place with a win over the Ravens, we just need a very strong finish. The upcoming home stretch is very important and we need to win every home game from this point on.
