What time is it? Game Time…

Are you ready for some football?Well, it’s too bad Ray Lewis won’t be doing his patented chant at Heinz Field tonight. Looks like Ray will be sitting with myself and 65,000 other fans watching the Steelers destroy the Ravens. I can’t believe how bad the Ravens have been this year and it keeps getting worse for them. Injury riddled and plagued with more problems than Ricky Williams trying to get through customs, the Ravens will have a very hard time tonight at Heinz Field.

These are the kind of games that scare me. We are favored by 14 points and everyone is picking the Steelers to embarass the Ravens tonight. I’ve seen too many teams go into games thinking they are going to win and get their butts kicked. Two teams come to mind after watching yesterdays games, Tampa Bay and Cleveland. Both teams going up against teams that are declining fast and have nothing to prove and should have won these games easily. They didn’t, they both lost.

The Steelers are clicking on all cylinders and we have won 10 straight Monday Night games so, I feel good about this game. But, these guys have to go into this game confident but not over confident. If I was a betting man, I would say Cowher is going to try and hit them hard and fast with much emphasis on wearing them down with the running game. Why not, with all the injuries we should be able to run on them and go for the big pass play by taking advantage of the inexperienced secondary.

The Steeler Fanatic Predictions.

1. Score 27 – 6
2. Combined Rushing Yards 185
3. Heath Miller catches 2 TD passes
4. Defense forces 3 turnovers
5. Defense holds J.Lewis under 100yds.

Go Steelers!

Here we go Steelers! Here we Go!When I go back to Steeler games I will not go to the game without my pocket radio and earphones. I can’t tell you how much fun it is to listen to the game in an earpiece while watching it live. Listening to Myron Cope over the years has been one of the biggest highlights of going to the game. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been laughing or smiling at something Myron has just said during the game and someone around me will just point and say “you listening to Myron?” Myron Cope has been as much a part of the Steelers as anyone who has ever been a part of the organization.

Having said that….. Myron is being honored at Monday Night’s game with a Honorary Towel Wave. This should be awesome! I can’t wait to get my towel out and take part in the wave. Read the full story at The Official Website

Thanks Myron! We appreciate what you have done over the years!!!

Yoi and Double Yoi!

The UPS guy hates me this time of year, this is when I work on my Steeler Collection. One of these days I’ll put some photos up in the Photo Gallery of my 25+ year collection. This is a very cool piece of memorabilia, it is a Ben Roethlisberger Game Used Helmet. I collect alot of Steeler stuff but Game Used and Signed memorabilia is by far, my favorite. The helmet was used in a game last season, YES a rookie helmet. I purchased it through a reputable Charity Auction House, so I know it’s real. This is an awesome collectible and I made a place on one of my shelves next to the Big Ben McFarlane Figure.

Trick or Treat – The Ravens Will Be Beat!

SACK! Coming off a huge win at Cincinnatti the Steelers head into the first of 5 straight afternoon/evening games. The injury riddled Ravens will have their hands full against the Steelers this week. Ray Lewis and Ed Reed are both injured and head coach Brian Billick is doubtful they will play against the Steelers. Either way, I like our chances heading into this game.

My Halloween wish is to see Kordell Stewart come in at QB. :)

The Steelers defined the image of this team against the Bengals and a few different players stepped up and made some big plays. I would bet anything that Heath Miller is included in this weeks offensive scheme. This will do a few things, it opens up the running game and the short passing game. Especially if Lewis is out this game.

I’ll be heading back to the Burgh on Saturday for the game and will have a day of rest before the Monday night game. I love MNF in Pittsburgh and being on Halloween, the freaks will be out in full force.

Bring on the Ravens!

Steelers Come Out of Cincy with a Big Win.

Big Ben after the Bengals game. What a game! As predicted by The Steeler Fanatic, the defense got into Palmer’s head and forced him to make mistakes. Of course stopping Rudi Johnson helped tremendously and keeps the streak alive, 18 straight games not allowing a 100 yd rusher. Who was the last RB to run for 100 yds against the Steelers? You guessed it, Rudi Johnson. Another streak that continues is 10 straight road wins! Why do the Steelers play so well away from Home? Could it be the huge following around the country? Nope, it’s the attitude of the Steeler players, R-E-F-U-S-E to L-O-S-E.

The defense was awesome in yesterdays game with 2 interceptions, 2 sacks and the pressure on Palmer was the key to victory. He didn’t have any time in the pocket to make good decisions. That is huge.

The Bengals still lead the division by 1/2 game but, we have them head to head now and that’s very important. I mentioned it after our overtime loss to the Jags, do you see how important Big Ben is to this offense? In his very short career, Ben has proven to be a cool headed, good decision making QB. Welcome Back Ben! Stay Healthy.

Hines Ward celebrating a big hit.Our offense continues to be well rounded and the RB position looks to be incredibly stable, with a great one-two punch featuring Bettis and Parker. Where does Duce Staley fit into this team? I really can’t see him remaining happy as the 3rd RB. The WR position worried me going into the season but Ward and Randle El are strong and Morgan and Wilson are holding their own sharing the 3rd WR slot.

I say it every year, the Steelers scouting staff and draft guru’s are the best in the league. Heath Miller is quietly becoming an awesome Tight End. The guy catches everything that is thrown to him and is very hard to tackle after he makes the catch. We’ve needed a solid TE for a long time and looks like we have it. Thanks, Heath!

Halloween is coming and the beat up Ravens will be making the trip to Pittsburgh, more on that later.

Go Steelers!
